I have been feeling better, thank goodness! I actually made some cards for a birthday and bridal shower and had fun playing with all my "toys" again. :o)

A long weekend without end

I hope you had a good time this weekend with National Scrapbook Day. My home was filled (actually overflowing) with children, candy, crafts, pinata, strawberries...

And then, right about supper time, it hit. The worst cold I have had in a LONG time. I am still sick and couldn't even talk today.

I had to resort to whistling so everyone else in the house knew I was calling them. I felt a little like Capt. Von Trapp in the Sounds of Music, but without the brass whistle.

Anyway, since I didn't get to scrap this weekend, please share your fun with me in the comments. I think they will make me feel better.

Getting Ready...National Scrapbook Day is SATURDAY!

This has happened to me every year since 2003. National Scrapbooking Day sneaks up on me and I already have plans!

You see, in 2003, my precious "Angel Face" was born on May 1st. Ever since then, the first Saturday in May has been birthday party day. And I am thinking it will continue to be that way for another 15 years or so to come!

I am hoping you will celebrate Scrapbook Day without me. Can I send you some photos to scrap for me while I try to keep a bunch of 4 year olds from knocking each other senseless as they try to break a pinata? Pretty please? :o)

I have to add that I LOVE making my own acrylic embellishments...I just rarely have the time to do so!

One Month Scrapbooks

I found this interesting article on making a "one month" scrapbook.

There are so many creative ways to scrapbook, I can hardly keep up.

Create a One Month Scrapbook

Creating a one month scrapbook is like creating the story of your life at any given time in life.

Choose a month for your scrapbook. Now make it a point to take 5 photos every day of that month. At the end of the month, you’ll have 150 photos to sort through to tell the story of your life.

Take photos of the activities you do on a regular basis. For example, I leave my house every day at 7:20 a.m. to take my daughter to school. So, I took a series of photos around this one activity. I took a photo of the clock reading 7:20 a.m. I took a photo of my daughter sitting in the car. I took a photo of the front of the school, and then I took a photo of the clock when I got home at 7:40 a.m.

At the grocery store, I took a photo of the empty cart. I took a few photos of food aisles. I took a photo of folks waiting in line. I took a photo of my full cart, and I took a photo of the groceries in my trunk.

For those who work outside of the home, take a photo of the clock when you arrive. Take a few photos of co-workers. Take a photo of your desk. Take a photo of the clock when you leave.

If you keep a small notebook with you, you can jot down notes for journaling once you begin to put the scrapbook together.

There are several choices for putting together your album. You can create 30 or 31 pages, with each page showing the highlights from that one day. You can create a scrapbook with title pages of “Week One”, “Week Two” etc and then create pages within that week that show your typical week. Or you can create a scrapbook titled “January”, or “June” and put photos in, in no particular order, showing what your month was like.

One month scrapbooks are both fun to prepare for and also fun to put together.

Can someone say, "BRRRRRRRRR!"

Here in Eastern NC, we had a VERY chilly Easter. My husband's grandmother remarked that it was colder for Easter than it was for Christmas and I don't think she was exaggerating! My mother-in-law bought beautiful matching dresses for our girls and they all had to cover them up in sweaters and jackets just to keep from turning into Popsicles Sunday morning! I was tempted to get on I-95 and head south to FL to be warm!

Well, I got to thinking this morning about what to get my mom for mother's day. She's SO hard to shop for and keeps saying she wants photos of the children, but it is almost impossible to get all 4 looking the same direction and smiling at the instant I click the shutter button on the camera!

When I do finally get "that" photo, I am going to use this awesome coupon I got from Photoworks to get 10% off my entire order. Oh, and if you use this link you can use it too! Mother's day is about a month away and I know that if I don't do something now, I'll be spending WAY too much on flowers to send her at the last minute...not that I've ever done THAT before. One good "side effect" of uploading your photos to someplace like Photoworks is that you have another copy of them somewhere. Remember I told you about the lightning strike we had back in October where I lost about 6 months of photos (actually more if you count some of the photos I had migrated from our older computer)? Well, because I had used Photoworks before the strike, I had copies of some of the photos in my album on their site and didn't lose them. WHEW!

Well, that's it for today. No question of the week for this week...my brain is still frozen from this weekend! :o)
